The original design comes from a impression die from a maharaja knife sheath, that I've found in a small silver shop in Rajastan- what was once protecting knifes is now protection your ears. (last slide, just for demonstration cause, not selling the the sheat or knife!)
If you are very sensitive to the weight of earrings, you can pre-order a pair of hand stamped silver/silver gold plated ones, they are half the weight, but it needs some time, as I have to travel to Rajasthan to make more.
